• GAP fills gap khi xe total loss và bạn owe more than ACV.

Các bước

2. Bước 2: Lease = always need GAP (usually included).
3. Bước 3: Compare options: insurance carrier (cheapest) vs dealer (most expensive).
4. Bước 4: If financed dealer GAP, refinance loan to remove (varies by lender).
5. Bước 5: Cancel GAP when loan-to-value drops below 80%, partial refund prorated.

Lỗi thường gặp

• Pay dealer GAP financed, interest charged on GAP cost over 5-7 năm.
• Forget to cancel, once loan-to-value <80%, GAP wasted money.
• Skip when needed, total loss with negative equity = $5K-$15K out of pocket.
• Confuse with extended warranty, GAP only pays loan balance, not repairs.
